CR SPECIAL 29:

The regional climate model RegCM4

Editors: Filippo Giorgi, Richard Anyah

CR SPECIAL 29 provides an overview of the latest versions of the regional climate modeling system RegCM, originally developed in the 1980s at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado, USA. The RegCM3 and RegCM4 upgrades have improved the model’s flexibility, portability and ease of use, and they have been aimed at improving the model’s utility in developing countries.

Contributions to CR SPECIAL 29 span all continents and a variety of applications, from model validation to climate impact simulations. The studies illustrate the versatility of the RegCM modeling system. Use of the model by the RegCNET research community will provide the basis for development of the next RegCM generation.

We are pleased to make the online version of this CR SPECIAL available with Open Access.
