Supplement 2 - Video S1

This video demonstrates the response of platform-associated fishes to habitat compression within stratified waters at platform ST 21-GC on 20 August 2014. The video was edited to begin 4 m below the surface, where a 10 species fish assemblage was densely aggregated immediately below the overlying DO supersaturated bloom waters but above oxygen depleted waters (<50% DO saturation). See Fig. 2 for water quality information.

Supplement 2 - Video S2

This video demonstrates unusual behavior of young-of-the-year snapper (Lutjanus campechanus and L. synagris) at platform SS 93-66 on 21 August 21 2014. Newly settled snapper are typically strongly associated with the seafloor and structure. In this case young snapper associated with the platform were displaced from the seafloor by hypoxic bottom conditions to 2 m above the bottom but remained associated with the platform. The snapper were feeding in the current on the up-current side of the platform.
